Surrender to the Flame
Surrender to the Flame
As I was creating the image on the left, I could feel the fire spreading off my canvas. I grabbed another canvas and holding it with my left hand — captured the fire as it moved.
Then I saw it rising and I pulled another canvass into play. This time I had to mix more paint, and I was concerned I would not be able to replicate the colours. Yet as I worked – my right hand painting the canvas, and my left hand holding the canvas in place, As the live event I was painting at came to a close, a woman stood on the platform and released a spontaneous poem.
It was mesmerizing. Her last line in the poem? Surrender to the Flame.
3 acrylic canvasses - 28``x28`` overall in three irregular panels
